This weekend brought me lots of treasures, including a few things from my "always looking for" list!" The two cameras above are definitely a part of that list. I'm a sucker for old cameras, even if I'm not sure of their working condition. These both were so cheap that I couldn't pass them up. Not sure what I'm going to do with them yet -- I might paint them in a funky way and make art pieces out of them!
I went a little bag-crazy this weekend too. I love the bag above because it's that thick quilted style, plus I love the blue/green paisley combo. This is the perfect kind of bag to just sling over my shoulder when I'm going out to lunch with friends or on my way to a movie. Plus it's lightweight and flexible, so it doesn't take up much room in my closet when I'm not using it.
The bag above isn't for going out or using as a purse. It's actually for my knitting projects. I've found bags like this to be really great for holding works in progress. They're really roomy and wide enough to hold a few skeins of yarn. I put each project in its own separate bag, which makes it really easy to keep them organized on a shelf in my craft room. Then whenever I want to work on something, I can just grab the right bag and go!
I love typewriters and always have to stop and lovingly look them over whenever I stumble across them. For under $20, this one was definitely tempting. Unfortunately, when I looked at the actual parts, they seemed a bit on the rough/worn side and there was nowhere in the store for me to plug it in and see how well it worked. I passed on this one, but it was still picture worthy.
I didn't find much for nashpop this weekend but the above lamp was a definite buy! Evey and I recently decided we wanted to paint some lamps and this was the first one I found that I thought was unique enough to purchase (I'm still in love with her lion lamp from last week). The picture below is a set of trout bookends that I couldn't pass up. These have me instantly thinking of Father's Day in June and painting these in a bright blue or green that would look so great in a guy's office or on his bookcases.
My last purchase was a set of two argyle sweaters that I have been looking *everywhere* for. I needed one for a librarian outfit that I am putting together for a party. I bought both the black and the brown because I couldn't decide between the two. Now I have more options to work from when I pull the rest of the outfit together.
What did you find at the thrifts this weekend?

I'm so jealous. I can never find vintage cameras or typewriters.
ReplyDeleteI don't find them very often, but when I do, I almost always snap them up! =) Estate sales are a great place to find typewriters.
